Is there any body who live in the Oxfordshire area that does van conversions professionally ie vans to motor homes. Because I want to buy a descent Transit van and convert it with some ones help. I will purches all new equipment like ready made cabinets and all that.
Why i am asking is because it cost from 10.000 to 15.000 pounds for a standard conversion done by the people that does all the time.

Hi!
Not too sure about the Oxfordshire area, but we were recently looking at motorhomes on ebay.co.uk. Some of the auctions were van conversions, and they named the companies that had done them.
If you go to ebay and type in either ‘camper van’ or ‘motor home’ you should get some good matches.
I know this might be a long shot, but you never know!
Best of luck and have fun with your ‘motor homing’!!
I don’t know about the Oxford area but you will be very lucky if can buy a ready made cabinet that you will be able to fit into a van.
I have been looking at doing this for a while and depending how many you want the van for a Transit is a bit on the small side,
I was looking at the traffic or a merc sprinter, i have got the windows to put in the side’s etc and got the rest of the stuff from a scrap caravan that i bought That way i haw all the electrics, cookers, and hot water system for very little cost.
The best place i found to get windows was from horse box bits they will post it to you they also sell all sorts of other stuff that can be useful Horsebox people are good to speak to for ideas on how to lay it out etc as they are doing it all the time when building the "living" sections on the Lorry’s.
Its prob best to build all storage etc from scratch you can do a lot from a sheet of Plywood and if you pay a bit more you can get sheets with a nice veneer on a bit of picture frame around the edges and you get a nice looking door for it.
Hi, you can get a lot of information on how to build a motorhome from the self build motorhome club at,
