We have a small campervan and need an electric hook-up. The sites I’ve looked at on the internet are very expensive during the half term holiday. Has anyone stayed at a nice little site close to Windermere that doesnt cost a fortune?

You’ve probably looked at all these already, but just in case you havent:

Try this one it’s an award winning site in the national park It is a camping and caravan club site but it lets non-members in too. it has room for 250 pitches . Only half of these will be with electrics as half of them will be for tents. I think the cost for non-member is around £6.00 each a night and then about £3.00 for your electrics. If you have children I think they camp for free.
The telephone number for this site is: 01539 821119
Its only a few miles from Lake windermere, and has many environmentally friendly facilities to match its beautiful surroundings. You may see deer, song thrushes and rabbits on this site.
On site there is a bar serving food and beverages in the evenings.
Hope I’ve been of some help. Fellow caravanner.
You will be lucky love!! I have scoured the internet for weeks lokking for a cheap break in the lakes, but I have found a week in france is cheaper, and that also includes ferry crossing, so I am off there instead. And they wonder why people prefer to go abroad for a holiday? If anyone who owns accomodation, or camp sites in the Lake district, is reading this YOUR PRICES ARE DISGUSTING.
Oak Head Caravan Park, Ayside, it’s not too far from Windermere, it’s quiet and inexpensive with lovely walks and run by a very friendly family. Email me if you need more info.
